HB 382 would require school governing bodies to adopt procedures that prohibit students from using facilities aligned with their gender identity. This bill would mandate a school notify parents if a school employee "acts to change" a gender marker, pronouns, or preferred name; or allows a child to change their "sex-based accommodations" including bathrooms/locker rooms. HB 382 would allow parents to access a student’s health record without their child’s consent and be notified if their student utilizes mental health services.
