Alaska Native Rights

At the ACLU, we aim to preserve the constitutionally guaranteed rights of people who have historically been denied their rights on the basis of race or ethnicity.

An Alaskan Native totem pole.

We are committed to upholding racial equality and combating racism in all forms through litigation, community organizing and training, legislative initiatives, and public education to address the broad spectrum of issues that disproportionately and negatively impact people of color, including the indigenous peoples of Alaska. The ACLU of Alaska strives to eliminate the distinct obstacles faced by Alaska Natives as they exercise their constitutional right to vote and freely practice their faith.
