The ACLU of Alaska is saddened to share the loss of former Board President, Karen Crane, on March 20, 2024 in Juneau. Karen lived a long life of public service, including as an Assembly Member for the City and Borough of Juneau, and as a volunteer at the Partnership Board, Juneau's Sponsor Circle for Refugees, and Chair of Juneau Arts and Humanities Council. Friends, family, and members of the community note that she was a fiercely independent, progressive thinker her whole life.
