The UAA/APU Consortium Library will present a public defender documentary film screening and discussion on Sept. 18. This award-winning documentary follows the work of Heather Shaner, a lawyer representing January 6th rioters, who works to confront America's political divisions with empathy. The film will be followed by a panel discussion featuring ACLU of Alaska staff, Doron Levine, and Lu-Anne Haukaas-Lopez.
