Sean joined the ACLU of Alaska team in September 2023 as part of the Alaska Fellows Program. His work involves supporting the Strategic Development team and formulating a multi-year departmental strategy that better incorporates equity and social justice principles. He also assists the ACLU's Advocacy department with policy research.

Sean graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill summa cum laude in May of 2022. Sean holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and International Relations and a minor in English. In school, his major academic interests included comparative politics, illiberalism, and political rhetoric. Prior to his work at the ACLU, Sean was a youth backpacking guide, worked on an organic family-owned farm, and taught English in southern Spain.

Having grown up in Appalachia, Sean possesses an enduring passion for the mountains and everything outdoors, which he has brought to his new home here in Anchorage. When not helping to defend Alaskans’ civil rights and liberties at the ACLU, he can be found trail running, skiing, or backpacking.
