In January 2016, the ACLU of Alaska joined 17 other states in a nationwide initiative to push for stronger privacy laws and encourage Americans to #TakeCTRL of their personal information and data. We worked with Rep. Andy Josephson (D-Anchorage) to introduce two bills, HB 284 and 285, that protect social media privacy rights and ensure that students and employees do not have to disclose their social media login information to teachers or employers.
